Second-hand fashion finds from a starving student.

I love my new American Apparel skirt. It is red. It has pockets. And it was $5. Click on the photo for the link to the retail site for the actual price :)
[Leather belt - $4]
[Plaid shirt - $3]
I can’t say how awesome it is having these kind of shirts in one’s wardrobe. They’re comfortable, perfect for doing chores and cooking and sleeping and reading and running errands and trying to be hipster and possibly failing and I love them. That is all.
[Esprit jeggings, $6.50]
Okay, so many of you might be rolling your eyes at me. You may even be thinking, “but of course JEGGINGS were at a thrift store!”.
When I wandered into my local second-hand store, there were several brand-name jeggings (Guess, Esprit, etc.) and I couldn’t help but grab this pair. I’ll defend these pants to the end of time. They are ridiculously comfy, still feel like jeans, and they go with anything, especially the baggier cotton button-up shirt I’m currently wearing. I am no trend-snob, so while they may not be in this month’s issue of Vogue, I will love them till the end.
Edit: They also have pockets at the back. Win.
[Black leather purse - $5]
[One-strap shirt, Old Navy - $3]
Wandering the aisles of Value Village one day, I was drawn to a genuine leather purse made in Canada. I really liked it, and I hate to be age-ist here, but it screamed “old lady!”. For some reason I bought it anyway, and then I ended up wrapping my favourite scarf around it, tying knots at the top near the opening of the purse. When I get sick of this pattern I can switch it up with another scarf, which is awesome! Try this out with any old purse/scarf combo; you won’t be disappointed.
[Purse - see next post]
[Aldo shoes - $10]
[Urban Behaviour dress - $9]
As a full-time university student, I don’t make much money. In fact, I make almost no money. Yet I always cough up the coinage when I go thrift shopping. There is something about getting a ridiculously good deal on a previously loved item that I cannot resist.
Without further ado, I introduce Confessions of a Thrift Shop Junkie, a photo journal of all of my thrift shop fashion finds. In time, I hope to shock myself at the vast amount of clothing and accessories I have purchased, so that someday I can muster up enough self control to say no to that irresistible item.
